Welcome to the Spring Update from the Australian Saddle Pony Association.

The Annual General Meeting was held in July 08 at the Panthers, North Richmond NSW and I would like to thank the committee and members for attending. The ASPA Federal Committee is as follows:-

The society is moving forward and many discussions took place.

2008/09 YEARLY JOURNAL

The society is hoping that members will contribute to the yearly journal which will be published at the end of the year and will be forwarded with your membership 09 memberships. This Journal is for all members and we welcome any contribution. There is also advertising available Full Page $200 Half Page $100 1-4 Page $50. Please members support this as it will feature all the societies events and results from Australia.

URGENT ATTENTION: Unfortunately the Federal Office has been receiving many new registrations without all the relevant paperwork and/or incorrect monies e.g. copy of other breed registration papers not being supplied and not checking the correct rules and regulations on fees applicable. Due to the increased work load, there is a $10 Administration Fee applied to all incorrect paperwork. So it would it very much appreciated that when sending in your registration papers that DO NOT FORGET TO SEND IN COPIES OF THE OTHER BREED REGISTRATION PAPERS AND THE CORRECT MONEY - IF IN DOUBLE PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL SECRETARY BEFORE SUBMITTED YOUR PAPERWORK. THANK YOU

THE COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS were held in August 08 at Parkes Showground and thank you to all members who attended. Even though entries were slightly down in 2008, as well as know why and thank you to our Judges from the Hunter Valley being Mrs Dianne Phillips, Ms Joanne Parry and Miss Kayla Gunner. Thank you also for Alicia Birch from Show Horse Photography (Official Photographer for Horse Shows Magazine) for taking great photos. Alicia will also be attending the ASPA National Show in November at Castle Hill Showground.

2008 AUSTRALIAN SADDLE PONY NATIONAL SHOW: Entries Close: 10 OCTOBER 2008. To be held on 9 November 2008 at Castle Hill Showground. There is an open ring and all results will be submitted to the RAS for performance for the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Royal Entries Close on 24 November.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANES WILL LATE ENTRIES BE ACCEPTED - SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR ENTRIES IN NOW

Representatives from the Federal Committee will be visiting Tasmania and will be present at the Tasmanian Hack Council Horse of the Year Show (1st November) and also attending the Mons & Affleck All Breeds Show on 2 November. All paperwork will be available on the days for those wishing to join the Association and registration of Saddle Ponies. Also available will be Australian Saddle Pony promotional items such as Polo Shirts, Key Rings and Stickers.

NEW TO THE WEBSITE is a FOR SALE Section which is free of charge to all financial members of the ASPA. This FOR SALE section is for Australian Saddle Pony registered horses only. Members please take advantage of this offer and send your information through to the Federal Secretary at aspa@aapt.net.au to be included. This page will be updated on a monthly basis and it would be appreciated if members could send their information in by 27th of each month so your for sale will be included on the website for that following month. Limitation to 50 words and 1 photo only (don't forget to include your email address, phone number and price)
